Article Evaluation
[edit]The Wikipedia article I've chosen to evaluate is the National Basketball Retired Players Association. At first glance, the page isn't incredibly formatted, however, that is perhaps the most distracting thing from the article. Upon reading it, there doesn't seem to be any part of it that seems biased towards the association. The page seems to have fair descriptions of the association and its programs without having any sort of overzealous claims that would swing in its favor. Regarding the sources, there is one dead link and two links that refer to an archived webpage. This would be problematic if the information on the current webpage had been changed to reflect something other than what the original article stated. Despite that, the sources are varied and don't seem to have any sort of bias towards the association. The information itself is a tad out of date with the majority of the sources being referenced back in 2014, and hardly any updates since. The talk page only has one update regarding modifying external links. The page is apart of 4 WikiProjects, being the one for Chicago, Articles for creation, National Basketball Association and WNBA. When compared to the way we've discussed Wikipedia in class, this article is greatly underwhelming. There's no visual aspect to the article, there is hardly any upkeep and the lack of great detail leaves more to be desired when trying to find information regarding this association. It could use a great amount of work.
