Phillip Escott is a filmmaker from Cardiff, Wales. His controversial debut feature film, Cruel Summer, premiered at FrighFest in 2016 before securing worldwide distribution.
A lifelong genre fan, Phillip has worked with a number of the UK’s leading boutique distribution companies, including 88 Films, 101 Films, Arrow Films and Second Sight Films.
In 2020 he founded his own distribution label, Fractured Visions. Dedicated to physical media, the company releases limited edition copies of classic and contemporary genre titles.
In 2021, his next feature film, The Found Footage Phenomenon, premiered at FrightFest once again, before playing other prestigious festivals like Fantastic Fest in the USA, Sitges in Spain and Monster Fest in Australia. In May 2022, the documentary was released by genre specialists Shudder.
His next feature documentary, The Legacy of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, will premiere in the summer of 2022.
