He had many albums with the group culminating in a Greatest Hits album encompassing most known hits of Gemelli DiVersi from 1998 to 2009. The compilation album released during the San Remo Festival was critiocally acclaimed. He later changed his pseudonym THG to Takagi.

Career

[edit]

The two musicians first met in 2012 and exchanged experiences. After the first collaborations for Gemelli Diversi and Boomdabash, Takagi & Ketra debuted with their first joint in-house production Nu juorno buono for the rapper Rocco Hunt. The song won the Newcomer category of the 2014 Sanremo Music Festival and went platinum. After Rocco Hunt, they worked as songwriters and producers with Fabri Fibra, Laura Pausini, Marracash, Mika and Briga. For Baby K and Giusy Ferreri, they produced and wrote (together with Rocco Hunt and Federica Abbate) the summer hit "Roma-Bangkok" in 2015, which became the most successful song of the year in Italy and contributed to the renewal of Italian pop.

After further number one hits for the duo J-Ax & Fedez ("Vorrei ma non posto" and "Assenzio"), Takagi & Ketra, in collaboration with the musician Calcutta, hit the charts for the first time in 2016 with the song "Oroscopo". In 2017 they released their first single "L'esercito del selfie", with vocal contributions from Arisa and Lorenzo Fragola. The duo was able to deliver one of the summer hits of the year again.

The following year 2018, this was achieved with the song "Amore e capoeira", sung again by Giusy Ferreri (in collaboration with Sean Kingston), which also became a hit in Switzerland. On 1 March 2019, they released the single "La luna e la gatta" in collaboration with Jovanotti, Tommaso Paradiso and Calcutta. The follow-up single "Jambo" featuring Ferreri and OMI was released on 24 May 2019 and topped the Italian Singles Chart and went platinum and crowned as the summer hit in Italy in 2019. On 19 June 2020 they released the single "Ciclone", with Elodie and Mariah Angeliq. In January 2021, they collaborated with Marco Mengoni and Frah Quintale in the hit "Venere e Marte".
