Diocese of Austria and Switzerland The Diocese of Austria-Switzerland ( or the Diocese of Austia-Switzerland-Italy and Malta) was founded by the Holy Assembly of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church which is administrated by Bishop Andrej (Cilerdzic).

Handover of the newly established Diocese of Austria-Switzerland[6][edit]

In the church of Ascension of Christ in Vienna, on second Sunday after Pentecost, on June 26, 2011 the Divine Liturgy was served by His Grace Konstantin of Middle Europe with the concelebration of His Grace Bishop Irinej of Backa, priests and lots of faithful people of the newly founded Diocese of Austria-Switzerland. After the Divine Liturgy, Bishop Konstantin read the decisions of the Holy Assembly of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church on the foundation of the Diocese of Austria -Switzerland, which was temporarily administrated by Bishop Dr Irinej of Backa until the election of Bishop Andrej. After the vesper service, on the premises of the church of St. Sava in Vienna, a session was held during which the Bishops signed a document on the handover of the new Diocese.

Enthronement of Bishop Andrej (Cilerdzic)[7][edit]

The enthronement of Bishop Andrej of Austria-Switzerland was in Vienna in the church of the Resurrection of Christ on 20 July 2014 after the Divine Liturgy which was served by His Holiness Irinej, Arcbishop of Pec, Metropolitan of Belgrade-Karlovac and Serbian Patriarch. Many bishops of the Serbian Church and other sister Local Churches, as well as priests and monks concelebrated during this service. The highest representatives of the Catholic Church of Austria, state authorities, many church organizations from the world, as well as prominent people from Serbia, Republic of Srpska, Greece, Russia, Romania, Bulgaria, Germany... monks from the Athonite monastic communities, professors of the Orthodox Institute at the Munich University, representatives of the World Council of Churches and the Conference of European Churches also attended the enthronement.
