2  Brazil Fortaleza, Brasilia 13–16 July Attended the 6th BRICS summit at Centro de Eventos do Ceará. Met with President Dilma Rousseff, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Also held talks with other participating BRICS leaders.[2]
3    Nepal Kathmandu 3–4 August Met with Nepalese President Ram Baran Yadav and Prime Minister Sushil Koirala. The talks with Nepal focused on reviewing the 1950 Treaty of Peace and Friendship, India-funded hydroelectricity projects, and other infrastructure projects in Nepal.[3] Also addressed the Parliament of Nepal.[4]
4  Japan Kyoto, Tokyo 30 August–3 September Met with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and elevated the bilateral partnership to the "Special Strategic Global Partnership." Held negotiations on a civil nuclear deal and witnessed the signing of the Kyoto-Varanasi MoU. Japan announced investments of about US$34 billion in India and also committed to funding bullet trains.[5]

New York City, Washington, D.C. 26–30 September Delivered a maiden speech at the 69th session of the United Nations General Assembly,[6] addressed the Indian diaspora at Madison Square Garden in New York City,[7] and met with US President Barack Obama, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, among other world leaders.[8][9]
6  Myanmar Naypyidaw 11–13 November Attended the 9th East Asia Summit in Naypyidaw and unveiled the Act East Policy. Met with Burmese President Thein Sein and also held bilateral meetings with other leaders.[10]
 Australia Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney 14–18 November Addressed the Indian community in Sydney and attended the 2014 G20 Brisbane Summit at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. Met with Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott and other world leaders. Also addressed the Parliament of Australia.[11][12]
 Fiji Suva 19 November Met with Fijian Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama and addressed the Parliament of Fiji.[13]
7    Nepal Kathmandu 25–27 November Attended the 18th SAARC summit in Kathmandu, met with Nepalese President Ram Baran Yadav and Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, and also met with Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and other participating SAARC leaders.[14]
