The loss of civil liberties in the United States refers to the erosion, suspension, and nullification of civil liberties—rights and freedoms such as the freedom of speech, the right to bear arms, the right to privacy, and the right to due process of law—contained within the United States Bill of Rights and the United States Constitution.
