Alya Nuri is a 9-year-old American Muslim girl who was born in year 2000 in Sacramento, California. She is an author of the series "Things Every Kid Should Know- Smoking, Drugs, and Alcohol".[1] Her series was reviewed by Midwest Book Review. The basic reason of writing this series was to educate other kids and help them stay away from drugs, smoking and alcohol addiction pretty common around them in their schools and colleges.
Nuri writes to bring awareness to kids of her age and older about drugs, smoking and alcohol. She has done a video[2] with Dr. Don Kennedy. D.O., MBA of www.iquitsmokingfacts.com and author of book 5 AM & Already Behind.
She has written articles on smoking,[3] drugs[4] and Alcohol[5] to share some facts and information with kids of her own age or older.

[edit]Alya Nuri has been awarded a "Certificate of Recognition" by Noor TV.[6] She has also been interviewed on "KDTH Voice of the Tr-states Radio".[7] and BlogTalk Radio. Her series has also been reviewed in Al-Jumuah Magazine.[8]
Her mother, Zohra Sarwari,[9] is an established author, international speaker and business coach who home-schools her three children. Alya Nuri has been mentioned in Anti-Smoking Campaign of Children's Web Magazine 2009.[10] Islamic Writers Alliance [11] has also mentioned Nuri as an upcoming writer on their website. Webster.it [12] has also put Nuri's book on their website in their book section related to alcoholism.
Current activities
[edit]Recently she submitted her 3 videos on Can Alcohol Give You a Blackout?, Is Nicotine Addicting? and Is Marijuana Good For You? to Youtube and other video sites. Uniting Kids Website published Alya's story on their website.[13]
