Sankalp[1] [2] is a non-profit voluntary student organization at Iowa State University with an aim to fund sustainable projects and programs towards alleviating illiteracy and povery in nations like India. Sankalp also raises fund for disaster relief activites such as recently happend Katrina and Tsunami.
Brief History
[edit]Founded in 1995 at Iowa State University and in 1997 became a student organization funded by Goverment of Student Body (GSB) of Iowa State Univerity.
Goals
[edit]Organization aims towards raising funds through fund raising activities like volunteering at football games, organizing food festivals [3] etc. These funds are use to fund projects and provide funs to disaster relief[4] programs. In last 11 years, Sankalp has funded 23 projects in India and USA (total amound funded till now is approximately 70,000 USD)[5].
