Donatha Ngunovandu

[edit]Donatha Ngunovandu was born on the 12th of January 1958 in Omaruru a place in the east of Namibia, she has 9 Siblings and she is the 6th born. Grew up in a small village called Ovihitua close to a town called Omatjete in the Erongo region. She has only one daughter named Desmorine Gawanas,who is currently a student in South Africa at the University of Western Cape.
Educational background
[edit]She attended her primary school in Okozongeyama primary school situated in a small village called Okozongejama in the Omatjete District,she complited her primary career and went to !aebos(Omaruru Secondary school). After high school she went to South Africa to the University of Stellenbosch and studied Sports medicine.
Her Career
[edit]Her 1st job was a nurse at the Katutura Hospital. Than she decided to major in Sports medicine,She also worked for SOS(SAFE OUR SOULS), than she worked for NFA(Namibian Football Association)and worked there for 10years till today. she is a well known sports medic in Namibia. travelled the world,went to Chelsea, South Africa, lesotho, monaco etc, with her job. she is a accomplished sports medic, saved several peoples lives including Dr Tsendi Tutsoane who fainted shortly after seeing African Stars defeat Ramblers 3-0, but luckily Ngunovandu was on hand.[1] She attended the 2011 International Olympic Committee (IOC) World Conference on Prevention of Injury and Illness in Sports in Monaco, was a model citizen and that others needed to follow suit. Ngunovandu – the only qualified sport medic in the country – has been attending to injured sports stars on the field for over a decade. “Donatha does a wonderful job,” said Shifeta the minister of Sports. “It’s no surprise that Fifa called Donatha to help at the (2010) World Cup in South Africa.”[2] early this year she accompanied the Olympic and Paraolympic team to London for the 2012 Olympic games. the Successful Paraolympic gold and silver medalist Johanna Banson, Donatha was her sports medic.
Achievements
