Austin Howard (born June 9, 2006), formerly known as Austin El-kwali, but professionally known as AuztheKid (stylised as AuzTheKid) is an Australian producer, singer and songwriter. He is from one of many indigenous Australian tribes, the Kamilaroi tribe which his brother The Kid LAROI derived his artist name "Laroi" from.[2] Born in Waterloo, New South Wales, he gained recognition partly through his brother but mainly on social media after posting samples of his beats on both his Instagram story and feed. The samples posted to his Instagram feed attained significant popularity and is one of the major contributors to his international presence. Austin and brother Laroi have an unreleased track together, Stack Today, which has received generally positive reviews from individuals that have heard it.
Early life
[edit]Austin Howard was born on June 6, 2006 in Waterloo, New South Wales, a suburb near Redfern in the inner south of Sydney. His parents are Nick Howard, a music producer and sound engineer who worked with local artists, and Sloane Howard, a model manager and music executive.[3] Howard's great-great grandfather was a part of the Stolen Generation; he was taken from his family, placed into a white family and was told he was Spanish because of his darker complexion. His great-great grandfather later found out that he was Aboriginal when he was 18.[4]
