History
[edit]The Franchetti family is an Italian noble family that was one of the wealthiest families in Europe during the 18th century. The family traces its lineage to the 16th century XYZ, and intermarried with other notable families such as the Rothschilds, Millikens, and Fondas.[1] The family moved to Livorno in the late 18th century,[2] and they were prominent members of the local Jewish community from the Napoleonic era until the outbreak of World War II.
