  • Briefly describe why you have chosen this article: R1 Plasmids are a key element in understanding antibiotic resistance in bacteria. I became interested in this concept when studying plasmids in my Microbiology class. Since antibiotic resistance is a hot-topic in science, understanding R plasmids should be the starting point. Therefore, Wikipedia should have a reliable article that contains the basis of this concept.
