The Renault PR 100 is a bus originally designed and manufactured by Berliet. Production continued after the acquisition of Berliet by Renault in 1974, although the brand was not discontinued until 1980. Between its introduction in 1971 and withdrawal in 1999, a total of approximately 13,500 units in several variations were produced. The PR100 could be considered the French equivalent of the General Motors “New Look” bus.
The standard 11.35 metres (37 ft 3 in) bus had a capacity of 100 passengers, hence its name. Over the years, many aesthetic and technical improvements were made to this robust bus.

[edit]Two PR-100s were tested by the New York City Transit Authority in 1982. One of them was subsequently purchased by CTRSM where it became number 8-000 in their fleet. These two demonstrators differed from European PR-100s in having fluted silverside panels. A PR-180 articulated demonstrated in Montreal in 1986.[1]
