Statistical analyses of ancient Egyptian crania have led to differing conclusions, because of differences in the statistical methods and sample sizes used.[1][2] Studies of how the ancient Egyptians clustered genetically have typically found that Egyptians cluster closely with neighboring populations.[citation needed] Analyses of individiual mummies, based on either CT scans or melanin tests have come up with a variety of results as well, although they face some technical difficulties of their own which are also responsible for variation.[3][4]
