From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Community College Futures Assembly is an independent public policy forum sponsored by the Institute of Higher Education of the University of Florida. The purpose of the assembly is to identify critical issues facing community colleges and to recognize and competitively select bellwether programs for colleges to consider replicating. Policy research is also conducted in focus groups with board of trustee members, presidents, vice presidents, faculty, and community college oversight administrators.

History

[edit]

The Assembly has held a nationwide conference annually since 1995[1] in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Each conference presents Bellwether Awards to recognize programs and practices that have been successful at community colleges in several categories to recognize innovative programs.[2]

Proceedings of the conferences are published in the Community College Journal of Research and Practice.
