Benedicte Balavadze was a Georgian geophysicist, Academician of the Georgian Academy of Sciences, Professor, Doctor of sciences, Honoured Scientist of Georgia(1961)[1], Georgia State Prize-winner (1995)
The main scientific interests lay in the field of geophysics (gravimetry methods of prospecting, the study of the structure, dynamics and the physical properties of the lithosphere, the investigation of earth tidesand earthquakes, earthquake prediction). His pedagogical activity is concerned with training of geophysicists at Tbilisi State University (the founder of the chair, chairman, professor).
