I am retired after working for more than forty years in non-profit organizations. I had the privilege of helping to start a neighborhood service center in the early 80s, leading a great crew of people at Pioneer Courthouse Square in my hometown, Portland Oregon through the early 90s, leading another great crew of people in the construction and operation of The End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center in historic Oregon City from 1994 through 2009, and being an agent of change as the director at Leach Botanical Garden, an historic estate property left to the City of Portland as a public garden and museum until 2020. The work at the Garden included master planning for the long term development and well-being of the Garden and included building nearly $14 million worth of capital improvements for better public access and robust botanical and educational components.
Apart from my work life, I have four wonderful children, grandchildren, a loving partner and a broad circle of family and friends.
