The Itec Group is a South African company specialized in print management and production printing. It is headquartered in the Cambridge Commercial Park in Johannesburg, South Africa, with 48 offices throughout Southern Africa and the United Kingdom.

History

Originally founded in 1996 by Jacques Duyver and Philip Perkins,Itec was launched in 2004, after the company was granted rights to import multifunctional office devices by Konica Minolta, this has since grown to include a number of suppliers both internationally and in South Africa. In 1999, in an attempt to penetrate the SADC, Itec expanded its service offering to Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.

In 2008, Itec expanded to the UK market. This is ongoing.

Expansion

In 2008,ITEC took the decision to expand to the United Kingdom. This decision resulted in then CEO Jacques Duyver, immigrating to lead operations abroad.In 2009, ITEC acquired significant shares in two independent companies, 'Portayal Ltd' and 'Peninsula Ltd' with the aim of expanding their service offering. As stipulated in negotiations, both companies continued to trade under their own names.

In 2012 Portrayal Ltd, a £15 million pound company, merged with ITEC, rebranding all branches and collateral. This deal has seen Itec gain a footing in South West England.

This was followed quickly by Itecs acquisition of Time Business Systems, an office automation provider based in Christchurch, Dorset. . This deal has seen Itec gain a footing in South West England. Itec has shown growth in Southern Africa and the United Kingdom. The aggregated revenue for both regions is approximately £150 million / R1.7 billion.

Sponsorship

Itec’s sponsorship efforts range from high-profile events such as Tens Rugby, to less publicized sports in South Africa such as cycling which includes road and mountain biking. The company has sponsored mountain bikers Brandon Stewart and Jacques Rossouw (both of whom currently compete on the South African MTB Tour) since 2009.

Itecs dealerships distribute sponsorships on an individual basis, with many dealers sponsoring high-school rugby and and on and off-road cycling teams.

ITEC has also promoted itself through sponsorship of the Cape Town Tens, an annual Rugby Tens competition held in Cape Town, by providing corporate facilities and connectivity for the duration of the tournament.

Environmental initiatives

In 2011,ITEC entered into a partnership with ImpactChoice to provide a carbon offset programme to its clients. This agreement allows Itec clients to purchase carbon offset credits in order to reduce the impact of their products emissions.

Social Initiatives

In 2008, Itec concluded a deal with Ikamva Labantu Empowerment Trust, a broad-based investment vehicle for a non-governmental, non-profit organisation, aimed at serving underprivileged youths, the elderly and the disabled. The deal saw Ikamva Labantu instated as 50.1% shareholders in Itec Holdings.
