From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Main version: {{subst:3OR [| title of opinion request] | <response> | d=<anything> }}
Wait version: {{subst:3OR | wait [| title of opinion request]}}
The vertical bar in front of an unused element should not be retained.

My guide:

  • A light horizontal line, the icon, and the title ar automatically added at the beginning.
  • An emdash and your ~~~~ signature is automatically added at the end
  • If [title of opinion request] is included:
    • It is added to the end of the title in the main version and to the body of the wait message in the wait version, in both cases in parentheses.
    • In the wait version "(wait)" is added to the end of the title.
  • In the main version omitting [title of opinion request] causes the remaining element to be presumed to be the response.
  • Adding d=anything (just leave it out altogether if you don't want it), adds:
I am responding to a third opinion request for this page. I have made no previous edits on {{pagename}} and have no known association with the editors involved in this discussion. The third opinion process is informal and I have no special powers or authority apart from being a fresh pair of eyes.<br><br>
It can be included with any version of the template, but is always included in the wait version (so d= should not be used with wait).
  • The wait version sets the following as the (uneditable) automatic response text:
I have taken a third opinion request [(title of opinion request)] for this page and am currently reviewing the issues. I shall replace this text shortly with my reply. I have made no previous edits on {{pagename}} and have no known association with the editors involved in this discussion. The third opinion process is informal and I have no special powers or authority apart from being a fresh pair of eyes.
