• Name of article: Junji Ito
• Briefly describe why you have chosen this article to evaluate. For my class assignment we are asked to either write an entirely new article or to add to a current article. Junji Ito is someone I find interesting and would not mind looking further into.

  • The Lead's topic sentence talks about Junji Ito's career as a Japanese Horror Manga artist and that clearly describes the article's topic.
• Does the Lead include a brief description of the article's major sections?
  • The lead mentions Ito's most notable works and a brief description of what they are about.
• Does the Lead include information that is not present in the article?
  • The lead mentions everything that is present in the article.

  • The lead is concise.

  • The article's content is relevant to the topic. There is some biographical background, as well as a list of all of Ito's works and their adaptations.

  • From what it seems, the content appears to be up to date.
• Is there content that is missing or content that does not belong?
  • Perhaps further insight into the mangas could be included such as Junji Ito's impact especially his famous art style that has become popular in the U.S., selling in stores like Hot Topic.

• Are all facts in the article backed up by a reliable secondary source of information?
  • I am not too sure how reliable the websites used for information are as they are New York Times, or academic journals however there is one source form the Japan Times which I would assume is very similar to NY Times.
• Are the sources thorough - i.e. Do they reflect the available literature on the topic?
  • The sources are however very thorough as they have a significant amount of information about Junji Ito and aren't just a short paragraph about him.
• Are the sources current?
  • The sources are from 2015, 2016, 2017 so they aren't too outdated.
• Check a few links. Do they work?
  • I clicked around and many of the links worked.

• Is the article well-written - i.e. Is it concise, clear, and easy to read?
  • I believe the article is concise, clear, and easy to read.
• Does the article have any grammatical or spelling errors?
  • From what I was able to see, I did not see any spelling errors.
• Is the article well-organized - i.e. broken down into sections that reflect the major points of the topic?
  • The article is organized but there is potential for further breakdown of the sections that reflected major points of the topic.

Images and Media

• Does the article include images that enhance understanding of the topic?
  • It includes images of the original cover art but maybe the inclusion of example of the panels could help the reader see Ito's art style.

  • The image that is there is well captioned
• Do all images adhere to Wikipedia's copyright regulations?
  • Yes
• Are the images laid out in a visually appealing way?
  • Yes, maybe more images could be added

  • The talk page did not have much conversation if any.
• How is the article rated? Is it a part of any WikiProjects?
  • It is part of the WikiProjects "Biography / Arts and Entertainment," "Anime and Manga," "Japan / Biography," and Horror."
• How does the way Wikipedia discusses this topic differ from the way we've talked about it in class?
  • There isn't much talk of Ito's work aside from a list of his work and their adaptations. No talk of the mangas or Ito's art style.

  • I am not too sure, it says the categories are low-importance biography.
• What are the article's strengths?
  • The article has a strong lead.
• How can the article be improved?
  • By adding more information about Ito's influence, his American or over-seas popularity, and the influence of his art style. His art has been sold by vendors such as Cruncyroll and Hot Topic.
• How would you assess the article's completeness - i.e. Is the article well-developed? Is it underdeveloped or poorly developed?
  • I would say the article appears to be underdeveloped.
