User:TootsieRollsAddict/How to improve Wikipedia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In my opinion, Wikipedia needs to be censored. In my opinion, I think this is just one of the first steps for Wikipedia to (ahem ahem) become "safer".

All the Wikipedia editors: *gasps* Woah, WTF? This literally violates the founding purpose of Wikipedia!

Some things on Wikipedia might best be hidden…
…before other people see it.

Yes, I know. I know it all too well, and I also know that 90% of all Wikipedia editors are adults who can tolerate such NSFW things. And apparently, your stupid "free-culture movement" apparently doesn't care for child protection, and only cares to "make knowledge free for all", thus exposing our future generation to things that they should not see, and only further depress our-already unhappy world. And this is further ironic in the fact that Wikipedia LITERALLY ALLOWS PEOPLE OF ANY AGE[1] TO CONTRIBUTE, DESPITE ALL OF THE PAGES ABOUT NSFW THINGS! This is sheer madness, and it won't stop until something is done about it. Wikipedia should remain free and open, but some things best not be viewed by some people. I mean, I know a guy who is 23 and is still super-sensitive to NSFW stuff.

However, I do agree with the fact that Wikipedia should remain free and open (to view at least) and that everyone should be able to contribute to Wikipedia, as long as it is notable (seriously, creating a Wikipedia article about TommyInnit was not a good idea), from an neutral point of view and sourced neatly. However, I do think that trigger warnings should be placed on to articles that have NSFW potential to warn younger viewers. Spoiler warnings are dumb (I like superhero movies best when I have been thoroughly spoiled), but at least a trigger warning is enough.

So, what is the problem?
