This article is for the tribute song by PREF1X. For the pop singer, please see Michael Jackson. And for other use, please see Michael Jackson (disambiguation).

"Michael Jackson" is the first single released by Sacramento, California rapper Pref1x. The song is a tribute to Michael Jackson, his inspiration in music.

Overview

[edit]

The song begins with a melodic chorus, supposedly a chorus sung by Janet Jackson that Pref1x later used. The song then moves on to talk about Pref1x as a young child growing up surrounded by Jackson's music. As the song continues, Pref1x makes references to popular songs by Jackson. At the end of the song, Pref1x repeats "no more passing of your icons" and "the passing of an icon" a few times as the chorus returns, then to end the song.

Reception

[edit]

The song was taken well by critics. On July 26, 2009, Sacramento's radio station KSFM 1025 played "Michael Jackson", apparently having played it 2 times.[1]

On August 12, 2009 Pref1x uploaded a slide show video made by Paulusmagirl of the song.[2]

On July 7, 2009 Pref1x was interviewed by NBC News in Chico, California about the song "Michael Jackson".[3]
