National Latin Honor Society
The National Latin Honor Society, also known as NJCL Latin Honor Society, is a nationwide organization in the United States emphasizing excellence in Latin study and promotes Latin education; it is sponsored by the National Junior Classical League (NJCL). The designation is given to student members of the NJCL who have demonstrated student Latin performance academically and in the community.
Membership
[edit]Eligibility
[edit]To be eligible for membership in the National Latin Honor Society, the student must[1]:
- Satisfy membership for the National Junior Classical League by becoming registered with both the state and national
- Exemplify "good citizenship"
- Maintain an A in the current Latin course
The student must also satisfy any additional requirements set by the teacher at the local chapter.
Responsibilities
[edit]A student who is inducted as a member of the Latin Honor Society must maintain the qualifications needed for eligibility and pay the necessary dues to state and national organizations.
