Katagiri Sekishū
Katagiri Sekishū (片桐石州, 1605 – 73) was a Japanese feudal lord (daimyō) and tea master of the early Edo period.[1] He served as magistrate of the province of Iwami (石見), which is alternately called Sekishū (石州), and although he had the name Sadamasa (貞昌), he is most widely known as Katagiri Sekishū. Furthermore, the school of tea that he founded is called the Sekishū-ryū[2] (See Schools of Japanese tea ceremony.)
