[edit]Hello again Tinu. I talked to Moondyne about whether we can continue with this. Back in April we had SatyrBot doing it, but we had only done it up to Category:Premiers of Tasmania so you don't have to redo the others. And the last time, you were moving the templates to the alternative names, but I think it will save resources to not bother moving this? Blnguyen (bananabucket) 07:37, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
- Do you mean to add {{WP Australia}} to ONLY articles in Category:Premiers of Tasmania or articles in all categories after Category:Premiers of Tasmania in User:Moondyne/AU_categories ?
- All the ones after PoT. Blnguyen (bananabucket) 08:12, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
- Btw moving Redirect Project banner templates ( like {{WPVN}} ) to actual Project banner template (like {{WikiProject Vietnam}} ) is the default feature of Kingbotk Plugin + AWB based bots.. May be they think Transclusion of the actual banner template is better than Transclusion of a redirect banner...I am not very sure how to avoid that, may be a regexp would work.. -- Tinu Cherian - 08:00, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
- All the ones after PoT? Ok ... I will start the bot on these categories soon... I hope you guys have checked carefully for any false positive categories in the list.. ( I have good confidence in you after the vietnam tagging :D . I got practically no false tagging that time ). Cheers -- Tinu Cherian - 08:16, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
I suggest we do cats only at this stage: leave the articles for now (Blnguyen will recall the kerfuffle with Aus Music article tagging). Also, I see there's a number of redlinked cats in my list now. Can the bot skip these associated talk pages? Moondyne 09:51, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
- I recall there was that problem but if we check the cats against we should be fine I think. Which cat was it? I remember there was an error because we tagged all Oz Open champions when of course most of them were internationals. Blnguyen (bananabucket) 06:53, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
- I am confused... You want me to tag {{WP Australia}} banner 'to category talk pages' OR 'article talk pages in your categories' ? The category list are fed manually to the bot and hence red linked cats can be avoided -- Tinu Cherian - 09:56, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
- I am saying tag {{WP Australia}} banner 'to category talk pages' only. Blnguyen, do you agree? Moondyne 10:17, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
- In the long run, the articles should be ok providing the categories themselves aren't too liberal. Blnguyen (bananabucket) 06:53, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

- No problems, I thought Blnguyen wanted the articles to be tagged... I can tag the category talk pages in User:Moondyne/AU_categories also....The good thing of the my bot is that if it tags the category talk page, it can add |class=cat also if required ...-- Tinu Cherian - 10:23, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
Please do - it will give me a chance to not get so frustrated when i see the red discussion headers on category pages and get annoyed with fellow australian editors who start categories and never actually put any australian project templates on SatuSuro 15:00, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
- Sure :)... I will run the bot soon on the category talk pages... -- Tinu Cherian - 15:33, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
- Doing... : I have removed the non-existant cats and made this list User:TinucherianBot/Autotagg/WPAUS/cats . The categories in the list will be tagged as {{WP Australia|class=cat}} -- Tinu Cherian - 07:32, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
