The World American Football League (also called the WAFL) is on a mission. The mission is to bring a different kind of league online. The WAFL is a professionally run CPU vs CPU football league . Games are broadcasted online, so everyone can see everyone's teams. This has never been done online before. The WAFL used Backbreaker, a new Euphoria-based video game that will be released on June 1st, 2010. But nowadays uses EA Sports NCAA football 12. Every owner, all 16 of them, will be able to customize their team online using EA sports team builder. From here they can control who's on their team, and where their team plays, what their team uniforms look like and general information.
History of the WAFL
[edit]The league launched January 1st. Team's were introduced starting Mon. Jan. 4th with New York City.
Originally the WAFL started out using the video game Backbreaker on sony's PS3 to simulate all of their games. This was when the WAFL was just trying to start off. The league had a massive number of owners and decided that the league could be run better with less teams.
The league re-aligned for the 2011 season and was run on a completely new system with only 12 teams instead of 46. This season would be simulated on EA Sports NCAA football 11 video game. All games were broadcast on justin.tv on the WAFL network account. Commentary was provided by the founder of the WAFL and the commissionaire of the WAFL Cameron Irvine. This season would be a 16 week scheduled season with each team playing each week, there were no bye weeks since it was only simulation football. All origional owners of that season had competed in the WAFL before this.
