Miss Grand Japan 2019 (Japanese: 2019 ミス・グランド・ジャパン) was the 5th edition of the Miss Grand Japan pageant, held on July 16, 2019, at the Yokohama Kannai Hall, Naka, Yokohama.[1] Twenty-six contestants competed for the title.[1]

At the ent of the event, a 24-year-old office worker from Aomori, Adeline Minatoya, was announced the winner.[1]

Background

[edit]

In cooperation with the national Miss Universe Japan and Miss University pageants, regional representatives for the Miss Grand Japan 2019 contest were determined through the Best of Miss regional contest,[2] which was held countrywide in 16 prefectures.[2][3] Meanwhile, the central organizer also opened an online application to recruit additional contestants..[1] Of all 33 national finalists, 16 were the regional pageant winners, and the remaining were directly elected by the Miss Grand Japan committee.[1] However, the contestants were later reduced to 26 through the final screening or the withdrawal..[1]
