the Borough first Independents (tBfI) is a group of local residents and independent councillors who share a common goal of ensuring that the needs of local RBWM (Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead) residents are met and that they have a strong voice when issues are put before the council. We want to ensure that residents are put before party politics.

the Borough first Independents’ current Core Team is made up of residents from the Royal Borough

As of the May 2023 election, they have Cllr David Buckley (Leader), Cllr Helen Taylor, Cllr Helen Price, Cllr Geoff Hill, Cllr Alison Carpenter, Cllr Suzanne Cross, Cllr Jodie Grove plus Cllr Lynne Jones (OWRA), Cllr Neil Knowles (OWRA) who are affiliated with the Borough first Independents via Old Windsor Residents Association.

Bray Ward: Cllr Suzanne Cross

Clewer & Dedworth East Ward: Cllr Alison Carpenter & Cllr Helen Price

Datchet, Horton & Wraysbury Ward: Cllr David Buckley & Cllr Jodie Grove

Oldfield Ward: Cllr Geoff Hill & Cllr Helen Taylor

Old Windsor (represented by OWRA Old Windsor Residents Association affiliated with tBfI): Cllr Lynne Jones & Cllr Neil Knowles

Cllr Neil Knowles is the RBWM Mayor May23-May24

Cllr Lynne Jones is the deputy leader of the council & cabinet lead for Finance. Cllr Geoff Hill is the cabinet lead for Highways and Traffic, Customer Service Centre and Employment

A number of tBfI councillors have also been appointed to ‘champion’ roles to focus on specific areas within the borough. They are:

•    Councillor Helen Taylor – Social housing

•    Councillor David Buckley - Business

•    Councillor Helen Price – Corporate social responsibility

Cllr Alison Carpenter is the chair of the Windsor Town Forum
