User:The Anome/Geodata errors/Negative West

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

These tags specify a western, negative, latitude coordinate, which conforms to neither of the valid conventions for geodata markup, so it's not clear if west or east was intended. These will all need checking by hand against primary sources, and fixing on a case-by-case basis to be either W or E.

Comment' Some automated fixing, against category (e.g. "X in the USA"), or "region" parameter, may be possible. Andy Mabbett (User:Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 11:59, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
There are only 52 of them. It will much, much quicker to go through them by hand, rather than to write, debug and test the necessary code. -- The Anome (talk) 12:03, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
Sure; I'm doing my bit! I as just considering future cases (or a SmackBot like recurring check). Andy Mabbett (User:Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 12:15, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
I'm planning to do much better than that, but you'll have to wait about six months. -- The Anome (talk) 12:25, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
