Q: Why did you protect this page?
A: The bot can't protect any pages - it is not an administrator. The page was protected by an administrator, and if you have any questions ask them. To find who it was, look in the page's edit history and find the summary that looks like Changed protection level for "PAGENAME"... TheMagikBOT only adds a template - {{pp}} - that produces the little padlock icon in the corner when the administrator forgot.
Q: I want to edit this protected page
A: That's great! Thank you for your efforts to improve Wikipedia. I know that it can be really frustrating to not be able to improve a page. However, you can submit an edit request on the talk page. This will allow your changes to be made, provided they meet the policies and guidelines.
