Edward "Eddie" Langley was a contestant on Season 3 of Hell's Kitchen. He ranked in 11th place.

Season 3

[edit]

Episode 1

[edit]

The twelve new aspiring chefs were heading down to Hell's Kitchen in SUVs while getting to know each other on the ride. Once they arrived at Hell's Kitchen, Jean-Philippe introduced himself. Before he could go into how he and Ramsay met, the latter appeared and told the former to cut the crap. Afterwards, Ramsay ordered the contestants to cook their signature dishes.

During the Signature Dish Challenge, Eddie was the sixth person to get his signature dish tasted by Ramsay. Ramsay shook his hand when he introduced himself as he could not believe his face was so angelic while he looked wrinkled. He revealed that he was born with a rare kidney disease that stunted his growth, telling Ramsay that he was twenty-eight years old, much to the latter's disbelief. He made parmesan-crusted sea scallops with a cream sauce for his signature dish and was judged alongside Brad, who also cooked scallops. Despite Brad claiming they were good, Ramsay forced him to admit that his scallops were raw. When he tasted Brad's dish, he thought it was nice but felt the vanilla sauce ruined it, which Ramsay found the most sensible comment he heard all day.

During dinner service, Eddie was on the garnish station. He was very unnoticed during that service as he did not make the most mistakes. At one point near the end of the service, a minor fire erupted on his station. The blue team won the dinner service, despite Ramsay announcing that nobody won that night.[1]

Episode 2

[edit]

Ramsay had everyone catch fish from the delivery truck the next day and gave Eddie a small fish to match his size. However, that reaffirmed to him that he came to show how little people could get stuff done. Once all the Dover Soles were caught, the teams brought them back inside, but Aaron cramped up while carrying their bucket, much to his concern. During the Dover Sole Challenge, he could only clean two fish in thirty minutes, but only one of them was deemed acceptable. The blue team lost the challenge 8-9 and were forced to clean the remaining Dover Sole for the next service.

Later that evening, Eddie and Josh used Bonnie to help them with menial tasks after seeing her in a revealing outfit.

During dinner service, Eddie was on the appetizer station with Brad. As he tried to get his spaghetti ready, Rock and Brad butted in despite the former trying to push them away. That resulted in an excess amount of spaghetti cooked that was not needed. After Ramsay told Brad and Josh to leave him alone, he was told to control his station. He felt disappointed because he did not show enough assertion when trying to push Rock and Brad away. Later, he sent up risottos that were too peppery, which Ramsay claimed he wouldn't even serve to a pig. So, he was kicked off the appetizer station, much to his embarrassment, and Brad took over. Due to the blue team's constant mistakes, Ramsay kicked them out of the kitchen, with the former accusing him of not being able to cook a risotto.

The blue team lost the dinner service. Ramsay deemed Eddie's performance terrible, even though he argued he got confused when his teammates came over. Rock was named "Best of the Worst." During deliberation, he told Rock that the only choices for nominations were himself, Aaron, and Vinnie but pleaded that he was a strong prep cook. After speaking with Rock, he said he wanted to stay and felt Aaron should go home for his health.

Eddie was Rock's first nominee for elimination, with Josh being the second. During his plea, he said he learned to speak up and knew he could go far if given another chance. He was eliminated for being the "little man" of the team and for not managing his section. During his exit interview, he admitted that his biggest regret was not being loud and felt he should have torn the place up.

Ramsay's comment: "Eddie's got a big heart. Sadly, he couldn't even hold his own section. He made far too many simple mistakes, and he didn't merit running his own restaurant." [2]

  • (After being eliminated) "My biggest regret in Hell's Kitchen is just not being loud. I should've just went in full blast and just tore the place apart. Getting kicked off sucks and, uh, that you know I did it to myself."
