Zetrix is a 3D puzzle video game, created by Vesa Halonen. It is based on the popular Tetris game.

Gameplay

[edit]

The rules are similar to the original Tetris:

A random sequence of tetrominoes fall down the playing field. The objective is to build the solid lines by moving and rotating the blocks. Once such line is created it disappears and makes the above blocks fall.

After the 10 lines are gone the player is advanced to next level and the game speed is increased. When there are no more place to put the blocks the game is over.

Features

[edit]

The game has single-player and 3 multiplayer modes:

  • Duel:The player with most score wins
  • Race: The player that gets 50 lines first wins
  • Co-op: Both players share the same table

The multiplayer version can be played using the same screen (Splitscreen mode), TCP/IP or IPX connection.

The enhanced mode adds several blocks capable of increasing/decreasing water level, blocks explosions and adding the score.

MP3 music can be played during the game by dragging a MP3 or M3U (playlist) file onto the Zetrix executable/shortcut.
