Brendan Buckley is the drummer, producer, songwriter most widely-known for his two decades of work with the Colombian artist Shakira.

Early life:[edit]

Brendan Buckley was born March 13, 1974 in Morristown, New Jersey to parents Dennis Buckley and Soon Ja Kim Buckley. He is of Irish/Korean descent. He grew up in the small town of Mount Arlington, New Jersey and attended Roxbury High School. He later moved to Miami, Florida to attend the University of Miami's Frost School of Music.

During his decade living in Miami, Brendan worked with artists such as Shakira, Julio Iglesias, Nil Lara, DMX, Gloria Estefan. He also formed his own band Fulano De Tal. After relocating to Los Angeles, Brendan began working with Damien Rice, Minnie Driver, Perry Farrell, Shelby Lynne, Morrissey, Beto Cuevas, Daniel Powter, Idina Menzel., Miley Cyrus, Leehom Wang, JJ Lin, Tegan & Sara, Aleks Syntek, Natalia Lafourcade.
