You-Hua Chu

You-Hua Chu (Chinese: 朱有花; 1953-) is a Taiwanese Astronomer who was a former Chair of the Astronomy Department at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Currently, she is the director of the Academia Sinica Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics in Taiwan as well as the president of the Astronomical Society of Republic of China (ASROC) [1]. She has significant contributions to the studies of the interaction of the interstellar and circumstellar medium and star formation.

You-Hua Chu finished her undergraduate in the Physics department at the National Taiwan University in 1975, then obtained her doctoral degree in the Astronomy Department at the University of California at Berkeley in 1981 [2].
