Hello!
[edit]I like learning new stuff and sharing knowledge.
My professional life involves integrating web application front ends. I have a side interest in user experience and employee experience, particularly as it applies to software developers.
My academic background is in biochemistry, plant biology and computational biology.
In my spare time I enjoy exploring the outdoors on foot or on bike, attending musicals and trying to play the piano and trombone.
I'm a bit of a nerd and I don't like mice.

tools/tips/tricks
[edit]I love little productivity tricks. If you have a problem with any of these, feel free to drop me a message on my talk page.
- Wikimarkup cheatsheet: (follow the links there to further help)
- Because I always forget which order text goes for changing the text of a link:
[[Article_Title
|text to display]]
- and section links:
[[Wikipedia:Linking#Section links
]]
- Search wikipedia from chome address bar: I set the keyword to
w
for brevity. Wikipedia shortcuts also seem to work as the search term. For examplew h:cheat
in my address bar takes me to the cheatsheet page
- Layout: I use Stylish browser addin with Wikipedia layout enhanced to restyle the layout of wikipedia pages in my browser. It takes a bit of getting used to but seems like all of the normal features of Wikipedia are still available. Please note, this is not a Wikipedia tool, rather a browser addin that modifies the styles of websites you specify. Update - check this first, I'm undecided as to whether I'm going to continue using it.
- For reading, using the Official Mobile English Wikipedia has a similar effect however I prefer the Stylish addin for editing purposes.
- Wikipedia shorcut keys:
Alt <access key>
- Watchlist: Ideally I'd like to receive a notification each time a page on my watchlist is modified but I've not figured out how to do that. Instead I've saved this link to my watchlist, with some preset filters.
- Get a web page's title, for citing, by creating a bookmark with the following code instead of the page's URL:
javascript:(function(){window.prompt("Copy page title", document.title)})();
. Name the bookmark something like "popup title". To get any webpage's title, just hit the bookmark and copy the title that pops up!
