St Regulus Ladies Golf Club was formed in 1913 by 25 former pupils of Madras College and a few friends.  Over the years the Club has grown, and as well as a thriving golf section, there are busy and active Putting and Junior Sections.

While St Regulus Ladies Golf Club does not own a golf course, we have access to, and play our golf on all 7 courses, including the world-famous Old Course, which are looked after by the St Andrews Links Trust.

St Regulus supports the R & A Women in Golf Charter and we strive to develop an inclusive environment for women and girls within golf.

The beginning The first entry in the Minute Book of this Club recorded that the AGM of the Madras FP Girls’ Club was held on 29th September 1913 when it was suggested, and that since a goodly number of the girls were golfers, a golf club should be formed. After discussion the motion was carried. A further motion was then put forward and carried, throwing the Club open to friends of the FPs. The following ladies were appointed officials of the new Club: Mrs Rusack, Mrs King, Misses Finlayson, Linder, Low, Doig, and Carmichael, the latter to act as Treasurer and Secretary.

A Place to call Home On 9th October 1945, just a few months after the end of the war, an Extraordinary General Meeting was held to discuss premises that would shortly be on the market for sale. At the AGM in 1949 after Mr Caithness had submitted a report on Glendevon, 9 Pilmour Links, and given a probable estimate of the money required for purchase and maintenance, a vote was taken on the motion that St Regulus Ladies’ Golf Club contract to purchase 9 Pilmour Links for conversion into house and Clubhouse. This motion was carried by 43 votes to 2 against.
