The Honky Punks
The Honky Punks is an American honky punk band from Casey County, Kentucky, formed in 2001. The band consists of vocalist-lead guitarist The Reverend Terry Rice (a.k.a. Rev), bassist-vocalist Dave Hyde (a.k.a. Jekyl), and drummer-vocalist James Moore (a.k.a. Ninja).[1] The band produced two albums in 2009 with label Dead Puppy Records. Their latest album, Pig Sick, with current label Riotous Records USA is expected release in early 2011.
The Honky Punks started out as a solo project for Rev. His band Dark Humor was slowly fading out and his musical style was leaning more towards a more country feel.
After recording Poor White Trash with some friends for a compilation release through Antidote Records USA, Rev realized that his heart was more into The Honky Punks and it became his default project.
Rev met Ninja at a local tattoo shop and they have been playing together ever since. Producer Dave Hyde, formerly of Those Naked Guys and Showoff who is currently fronting Jesus Fucking Christ and the God Damnits, joined The Honky Punks as bass player in 2010.
Previous members of The Honky Punks include bassist Beth Dobbs (a.k.a. Foxy), bassist-vocalist-drummer Daniel Fishback (a.k.a. Fish), bassist Brandon Whitlow (a.k.a. Branthrax), and bassist-vocalist Megan Jeffries (a.k.a. Megtastic).
