My name is Shuyi Qiu. I am a graduate student in the school of information science in the University of Pittsburgh. I got my Bachelor's degree in Information Management and System in Wuhan University.
I have a great interest in my major. I prefer to use the knowledge that I learned at school in our daily life. Therefore, in the past years, I have taken part in many social activities. In the year 2012, I went to the capital city Beijing to take part in a Social Networking Services Investigation. We focused on the trend of social network through handing out hundreds of questionnaires and consulting with the managers in related companies. Among the companies which were willing to cooperate with us, I successfully got in touch with TianJi website and QQ Enterprise online. Eventually, we finished a report about 25,000 words and won the First Prize in our institute. Besides, owning to my outstanding performance in social practice, I was rewarded as the Excellent Leader. In addition, I participated in the application design competition in Hubei province with my classmates. Our design application was attach to mobile social application, which provided functions such as finding available study room, making an appointment to study together and so on for university students. Our application won the first prize eventually. During the preparation of this competition, I get a deeper understanding of user interface and user experience.
Moreover, I pay attention to foster my capability. I have worked as market director in Career Insider Club, which is a student organization in Wuhan school. My responsibility is to publicize Career Insider Club. And I have been to HongKong and Singapore for exchange program. Those experiences make me become more mature and independent.
