Description

[edit]

The Summer Wind is 48' long overall with an 11' beam and 385 sq ft of sail area. She carries a Chinese Junk or lug rig and is based on the original Gazelle design of naval architect Thomas E. Colvin.

The Summer Wind is a member of the American Schooner Association and Tall Ships America. She provides a sailing intern program for live-aboard crew during the sailing season for crew training for their merchant mariner credentials. The sailing season runs from April through October.
