Myers Mermel, whose full name is Mark Myers Mermel, is a New York businessman, Republican activist, and candidate for Lieutenant Governor of New York in 2010.[1]

Biographical

Mark Myers Mermel was born at the U.S. Navy Hospital in Japan and later raised in Virginia. He studied at the University of Vermont for his undergraduate degree and Columbia University for a Master's degree in American History. Myers also studied at Yale Divinity School.[2]

Myers has lived in New York since 1984.[3] Since then he has been an important player in the New York real estate industry, and in 1996 was named one of the "Top 20 Real Estate Movers and Shakers" in New York by the New York Post.[4]

Business Career

Myers began his business career in New York as an Assistant Treasurer at the Bank of New York.[4] He then served as a Vice President of Wm. A. White/Grubb & Ellis for five years.[4] Myers then moved to Morgan Stanley, where he founded the Corporate Real Estate Group in 1990.[4] In 1994, through a joint venture with Morgan Stanley, Myers formed The Corsair Group, a real estate investment bank. In 1999, the principals of this group founded TenantWise,[5] where Myers currently serves as Chief Executive Officer.[4]
