Expanded description

[edit]

Georgetti was an active participant of the 1980's Queensland Artist Run Initiative sector. In Melbourne Georgetti's work emerged within the context of the artists and curators surrounding Store 5, an artist-run-initiative where she was one of the youngest artists to regularly exhibit.[3] Georgette was first represented commercially in the early 1990s by Sutton Gallery, then soon after by Anna Schwartz Gallery in Melbourne. Other dealers followed including Sarah Cottier, Daren Knight, and The Commercial in Sydney, Milani in Brisbane and Hamish McKay in Wellington. In 1992 Georgetti was represented in the 9th Biennale of Sydney.

Georgetti's painting style has been described as eclectic, taking her cues from a range of sources including painting, sculpture, architecture, furniture, interiors, textile design and fashion.[4]
