Due to popular demand (joke).

I'm an expert on (and love) spirituals, blues, boogie-woogie, gospel, ragtime, stride, jazz (from Buddy Bolden to Thelonious Monk), swing, rhythm and blues, rockabilly, rock ‘n’ roll, soul music, and any other type of Afro-American music you can think of.

I spend my spare time tracing the development of Afro-American music from its West African roots by aurally identifying African retentions and tracing their passage into and through 20th Century music. No it's not boring: Jelly Roll Morton, Cab Calloway, Tampa Red, Sonny Boy II, etc. all share the ability to make you laugh out loud when they do something particularly outrageous.

None of this is usable in Wikipedia because it is original research so I content myself by driving in the occasional nail.

Semi-expert in a broad range of history including pre-Columbian civilizations and the Spanish Conquest of the Americas and all-round insufferable know-all.

Most unforgettable moments: meeting some talented and gracious people such as Irma Thomas, Albert Collins & band, BB King, Fats Domino and his wonderful family (and a ride with Fats in his Roller), etc.StonePeter (talk) 02:59, 24 October 2014 (UTC)
