The Duct-Tape Salesman (Albert Goldman) is a character in Joe's Roadtrip. He is of German descent.

Role in Joe's Roadtrip

[edit]

Albert sells Joe a roll of duct tape. He insists on a certain brand for Joe's needs and is very knowledgeable of duct tape.

Character

[edit]

Creation

[edit]

Albert was created out of a simple 3D mouth model found on Turbosquid. Rodrigues then expanded from there, creating a body, arms, legs, eyes, and hair. Although he is a rather simple character, he opens a new category of characters in Joe's Roadtrip, the average obese man.

Personality

[edit]

Albert enjoys his work and life, but is not very kind towards others. He said Joe's hostages were taken for a "lame" reason.[1].

Analysis

[edit]

Albert is a representation of an average obese person. Although he was created for comical purposes, he also serves as a symbol to society that obesity is an issue. Rodrigues himself wishes to stick with the comical purpose because it pleases his viewers more to "watch a comedy than to watch a serious obesity documentary"[2].
