Adol Christin is the main and only playable character in Ys: The Oath in Felghana. An adventurer and skilled swordsman, Adol explores the world in search of various adventures, often with his best friend Dogi. In The Oath in Felghana, Adol goes to Felghana, Dogi's home country. There he inadvertently overthrows Count McGuire, ruler of Felghana. He also saves Felghana from the wrath of Galbalan, the ancient god sealed away by the hero Genos.

Adol is seen as selfless and ready to help out anyone in need. Adol is unique in that he is the only entity that is completely silent; every other character and monster in the game speaks or makes some sounds. Anytime that Adol would speak in-game, the narrator instead says what happened, for example "Adol introduced himself."
