Sherrod Polis Bennet (born May 7th 2006) is an American businessman and politician who is the senior United States senator from Pennsylvania, a seat he has held since 2050 after incumbent Bob Casey Jr. died in office, making the Governor appoint him to the spot. He is a member of the Democratic Party, and a former member of the Republicans, leaving the party after Donald Trump was re-elected in 2024.

Bennet attended the University of Pennsylvania for a major in Business, and bailed the company Rite-Aid out of bankruptcy in 2030, taking on as CEO in 2031. He was formerly known for buying the company Walgreens and merging it with Rite-Aid in 2034, expanding the chain across the nation, gaining 67 billion dollars in the first year of the merger. He also attempted to buy CVS Pharmacy but the Department of Labor denied the plan, claiming it would make Rite-Aid a monopoly. Eventually the merged company made it to the spot of the largest pharmacy in America.

Early Political Career

[edit]

In 2040, Bennet decided to run for Mayor in the City of Pittsburgh, where he quickly gained support for his job on saving the Pennsylvania economy by bailing out Rite-Aid in 2034. The incumbent Mayor Ed Gainey was term-limited, and endorsed Bennet as his successor. Bennet won this election fairly easily against Mike Patton Jr., winning 78.4% of the vote.

He only managed to serve one term, after he was picked by PA Governor Candidate Austin Davis' to be his running mate in the 2045 PA Governor Election. While in the office of Lieutenant Governor he was mostly known for his wide Economic Reform, pushing to stop monopolies, and saving Pennsylvanian's jobs by pushing for employment equality by helping Governor Davis make the Employment Equality Act of 2049.

Appointment to the Senate

[edit]

In 2049, current Senior Senator, Bob Casey Jr. died of natural causes in his D.C. townhome, his death meant a new Senator needed to be appointed, and Austin Davis appointed Bennet to the seat. At first it seemed that some people didn't know about Bennet, but as his record was released publicly by Democratic Super-PACs his approval rating went up. In the Senate, Bennet was known for his Gun Control legislation and push to stop monopolies nation-wide, which he did with the Business Freedom Act of 2052, until it barley failed in the House due to a slim Republican Majority due to the absence of several Democrats.
