Aarohi Pandit (born February 10, 1996) is the first female pilot to have fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean and Pacific Ocean in a Pipistrel Ultralight aircraft.

[edit]- At the age of 23, Aarohi Pandit became the first female pilot to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean from Scotland to Canada, follwed by another world record to fly solo across the Pacific Ocean from Alaska to Russia in a Pipistrel Sinus 912, Ultralight nicknamed - Mahi.

[edit]- The Pipistrel Sinus is a two-seat, ultra-light, high-wing, cantilever monoplane. It is primarily built from composite materials and is capable of soaring. The variable-pitch propeller (Pipistrel VARIO) can be feathered in order to diminish the air resistance in non-powered flight.
Career
[edit]- Aarohi Pandit was born in 1996 and got her commercial pilot licence at the age of 21, followed by a Light sport aircraft license at the age of 22. She started off her journey with WE Expedition, world's first all-woman team to circumnavigate the Earth in her LSA, named "Mahi", on July 30, 2018. WE Expedition - the first ever civilian circumnavigation by a non-commercial flight by India, the larger cause of this expedition was to raise funds for the WE! Udaan scholarship to train underprivileged girls living in areas connected by Udan, India’s regional connectivity programme, to learn and earn from flying.
