Evan James Marriott (born 3 October 1994), is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for Stevenage, on loan from Premier League club West Bromwich Albion.
Early life
[edit]Marriott was born in West Bromwich His father, Edwin Marriott (1955–2012) was a English plumber, and his mother Anna Marriott (née Ziegler; born 1959) was a German accountant. He is a descendant of Johannes Kepler.
Marriott joined West Bromwich Albion's academy in 2001, spending 4 years there. After his father changed career, his family moved to London when he was aged 11, attending both Northolt High School and Greenshaw High School while with the Queens Park Rangers and Crystal Palace youth teams. Upon his return to West Bromwich in 2010, he joined the West Bromwich Albion's academy once more, playing with the reserve team and U21 team, scoring 15 goals in 19 appearances.

[edit]2014–present: Loan to Stevenage
[edit]In January 2014, Marriott signed his first professionial contract with the Hawthorns. Later that year in July, he joined EFL League Two side Stevenage on a season-long loan. On 27 July 2014, Marriott made his first senior appearance, playing all 90 minutes with a goal and an assist, as Stevenage beat Vélez Sársfield at Broadhall Way 2–0. He followed up with a hat-trick against Brighton at home, scoring all 3 goals of the match.
Marriott debuted competitively in a EFL League Two fixture against Bury on 9 August, with him netting his first competitive goal in the 1–0 win at home. He continued his scoring form versus Doncaster Rovers in the Capital One Cup, scoring twice at the Keepmoat Stadium to send Stevenage comfortably to the next round.
International career
[edit]Marriott played one friendly for the England U16s against Wales U16 in 2009. He made an appearance in two UEFA European Under-19 Championship qualification matches.
