Background
[edit]Fong’s Industries Co. Ltd. was established by Mr. Fong Sou Lam in 1963. During the 48 years, Fong’s Industries has emphasized on technology innovation and reinforced investment in the research and development of advanced products. The Fong’s Industries Group proactively established customer network by providing one-stop services with a comprehensive range and brands of textile dyeing and finishing machinery.
Since 1998, Fong’s Industries has been eager to seek for new business opportunities by expanding its business mode though strategic cooperation and acquisition. It currently runs five brands[1] including FONG’S , THEN, Goller, Xorella and Monforts Fong’s , all are leading and renowned brand names in the industry.
The tighter environmental regulations call for technical upgrade to environmentally-friendly dyeing and finishing equipment with low power consumption and dyestuff emission. Meanwhile, Fong’s Industries established its own waste water treatment unit, Fong’s Water Technology (FWT), which provides one-stop water re-use solutions to dyeing factories.
- 2011: Fong’s Industries Merged into China Hi-Tech Group Corporation [3]-
(CHTC) has completed its acquisition of the controlling shareholding in FONG’S Industries Co. Ltd. on Jun 2011. CHTC now is the new major shareholder of FONG’S. The founder Mr. Fong Sou Lam and his family became the 2nd shareholder. CHTC is still remaining FONG’S as an independent public company at the HK stock exchange.
From now on, CHTC will strive to further enhance Fong’s market position and brand effect by offering strong support for its future development, achieving economy of scale in operation and further strengthening its competitiveness in the dyeing and finishing machinery industry.
- 1963: Fong Sou Lam establishes Fong's in Hong Kong.
- 1969: The company is officially renamed Fong's National Engineering Co., Ltd.
- 1979: Fong's becomes one of the first Hong Kong companies to explore the textile dyeing and finishing market in China.
- 1998: Fong's National Engineering Co. Ltd. and RF Systems S.r.l., Italy, enter into a licensing cooperation to manufacture and market the Radio Frequency Dryer.
- 1999: Fong's Industries Group joins forces with A. Monforts Textilmaschinen GmbH & Co. KG to establish Monforts Fong's Textile Machinery Co. Ltd. and Monforts Fong's Textile Machinery (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd. for the manufacture of fabric finishing equipment in China.
- 2002: As a major step toward further diversification, the Group establishes Xorella Hong Kong Ltd. to acquire Xorella AG, which is engaged in the design and manufacture of yarn-conditioning equipment.
- 2004: The Group establishes Germany-based Then Maschinen GmbH to acquire the former Then Maschinen- und Apparatebau GmbH and Scholl-Then GmbH.
- 2006: The Group establishes Germany-based Goller Textilmaschinen GmbH to acquire the fixed assets, inventory and all intellectual property rights of former GTM Goller Textilmaschinen GmbH.
