The new season opens with special training that leads the cast to believe they are joining the Korea Coast Guard’s elite forces, but they learn at their appointment ceremony that their real assignment is Nohwa Substation. After travelling to the island by patrol boat, their mentors start with a briefing on the jurisdiction's geography and the vessel monitoring system, V-Pass. A sudden alert throws the newcomers off guard, while the station and rescue teams instinctively rush to their posts. Jae-yoon and Joo-wan belatedly board the rescue boat, but are soon called back at news of a false alarm. The four are then dispatched to Soan-do, where they investigate a boat fire by combing CCTV footage. Jae-yoon also assists with interviewing the fishing village chief. Preliminary findings point to a short circuit as the most probable cause, and the team return to the station.

To close the day, Beom-soo writes the case report while Tae-hwan completes the duty log. After work, the four enjoy a seafood feast prepared by their boarding house owners, Madam Jo and her son, Kim Gu. The next day begins with Tae-hwan taking over general affairs duty from the night shift. He and Beom-soo then learn how to disassemble and clean an automatic rifle. Meanwhile, Jae-yoon and Joo-wan are assigned to the rescue team, who inspect the rescue boat. They then go out on sea patrol, with licensed boat operator Jae-yoon briefly at the helm. After lunch, Beom-soo and Tae-hwan visit Sanyangjin port to promote life jacket use. They return just as Jae-yoon completes a dive to inspect the rescue boat’s hull. A radio call activates the rescue team to a stranded person, with Joo-wan entering the water as a rescuer for the first time. The person is transferred to a helicopter and taken away for medical care. On their way back, another radio call alerts them to an unidentified black object found at sea.
