I am Adjunct Professor of Education at Simon Fraser University and former Adjunct Professor of Cognitive Science (2014-2022) at Simon Fraser University. I have a Ph.D. in Cognitive Science from University of Birmingham, England (1991-1994). I spent one year as a D.Phil student at Sussex University (1990-1991, co-supervised by Aaron Sloman and David Young), and then headed to U of Birmingham, England to follow my Ph.D. thesis supervisor, Aaron Sloman, who had accepted a professorship there. (Glyn Humphreys was also involved in my supervision.)

I taught Psychology courses at the Royal Military College of Canada in 1994-1995. I was the first employee of Abatis Systems; and I was employee of Tundra Semiconductor Corporation at its founding. These two Canadian companies achieved valuations exceeding $1 billion Canadian in the 2000-2001 period. I was a research associate of Prof. Phil Winne's from April 2002 to December 2009. I have been an adjunct professor at Simon Fraser University since January 2010.
